Coconut Lotion Recipe

By Julie Sews - 6:38:00 PM

This is a very light lotion that melts as soon as you put it on your skin.  It is very moisturizing and smells great with no added fragrance or essential oils, the coconut oil in it smells great already.  I thought it was a bit oily and thin so next time I plan to alter the recipe below by increasing the beeswax to 2 tbsp. This has water and no preservatives so store in the refrigerated and use within 5 days.

 Unscented Coconut Lotion Recipe

  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of olive oil
  • 1 tbsp beeswax – grated or beads
  • 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel distilled water or tea
  • 1 Vitamin e capsule (soft gel capsules in the vitamin aisle)
·         Sterilize all equipment
.     Place beeswax and oils, and vitamin e in a double broiler until melted stir
·         Heat aloe vera gel in a double boiler at the same time
·         Put aloe vera into oil and beeswax mixture
·         Mix with mixer
·         Pour into a container
.     Store in refrigerated and use within 5 days (this has no preservatives in it)
