An inspiring documentary on the Cradle to Cradle design concept of the chemist Michael Braungart and the architect William McDonough. Winner of the Silver Dragon at the Beijing International Science Film Festival 2006
I just saw a great documentary "Waste = Food". View it at Google Video The concept of Waste=Food is about thinking of designing everything to be zero waste, instead of less waste. Basically making things to not have toxic chemicals, so that it can just go in the ground and compost. No more landfills. Completely sustainable buildings that mimic nature. Funny how simple and better nature always is.
The interesting thing is hearing manufactures of products talk about how they used this concept and how they had to change their products because they had toxic chemicals in it. Products like Nike shoes, a fabric manufacture (or clothes have toxic chemicals in it?), etc. Hmmm...
They also wrote a book on this concept, "Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things"by William McDonough and Michael Braungart. I have not read it yet but plan to check it out soon. Have you watched it or read the book? If so what did you think? I'd love to hear it.
