The Filter We Use |
So just drink bottle water right? Maybe, maybe not. According to the Dr Oz show, there are less regulations and testing of bottle water so there is no guarantee of what you are getting. Also some bottle water is really tap water that is filtered. Watch the segment on Dr OZ about bottle water here.
What about flouride in our water? Is it safe? Watch this video and see what you think.
Live green and use a faucet filter, instead of bottled water. You can put that water into a stainless steel water bottle. You'll save plastic from landfills, you'll at least know what your drinking, and it's not in a plastic container that probably has BPA (and who knows what else is in plastic) in it. We use a faucet filter currently and are thinking about using a shower filter as well. We use to use a pitcher filter, until we realized that faucet filters filter WAY more contaminates and cost about the same. Also we are trying to get away from using plastics by anything we eat or drink, so the pitcher doesn't work for us.
We have a PUR facet filter and the only thing I would change about it is to have it filter out flouride. It even tells you when it's time to replace it. It flashes green normally, then orange, and red means it's time to change. My husband also uses a stainless steel water bottle with a filter in it that's made in the US. That way at work he can have clean water all day. We purchased ours at www.ecovessel.comhttp://www.ecovessel.com/eco-vessel-filter-bottles.
I have not had our water tested but I did look up how our water tests on our cities utilities website. It's not horrible, but in any case it's always better to be safe then sorry. If anyone knows a filter that filters out flouride too please let us know! For more info check out this article.
