Documentary Trading On Thin Air: Review And Link To Watch

By JULIE - 7:40:00 PM

This movie does a good job of arguing the cost of following through with the proposed carbon tax.  I did think some of the editing could have been better and some of the conversations between the film makers could have been cut out, but other then that a very good and important documentary to watch.

They point to the fact that it is designed not out of concern for the environment but for the potential financial gain.  Not to mention the potential for corruption, and ironically as they point out in this documentary the possible negative impact on the environment if we were to impose a carbon tax.  In fact the very idea that it allows you to pollute if someone else doesn't is weird.  And how do you judge how much someone would Why not just tax them for polluting if they really are so concerned about global warming?  I guess no one would make money then huh?  I worry that politicians are using environmentalist good intentions to pass laws that are not beneficial to Americans but are to global bankers.

I find it very interesting that Al Gore stands to benefit financially from the implementation of carbon taxes, since his company stands to profit beyond belief or fail due to weather or not carbon taxes are enacted.  "The Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) has direct ties to both Al Gore and Maurice Strong, two figures intimately involved with a long standing movement to use the theory of man made global warming as a mechanism for profit and social engineering. Gore’s investment company, Generation Investment Management, which sells carbon offset opportunities, is the largest shareholder of CCX.Al Gore Set To Become First “Carbon Billionaire”  I also like how he also has a $30,000 a year utility bill.  How environmental of him....  I guess he really is afraid of global warming.  I know if I really believed in global warming and a millionaire I would be completely off of the grid.  We plan to get geothermal next year.  why doesn't he?  You can also read more on The Telegraph article " Al Gore could become world's first carbon billionaire: Al Gore, the former US vice president, could become the world's first carbon billionaire after investing heavily in green energy companies."  Talking about this makes me think of the man bear pig episode of South Park.

You might want to watch Conspiracy Theory Episode 3 of Season 1 Global Warming below.  I found it very interesting.  He addresses Al Gore's potential profits from carbon trading in it.

Growing food helps you respect the environment and realize that we are all connected to the environment.  If our environment is sick, so are we.  I just believe we need to be careful about how we go about improving our environment and make sure that it REALLY will help the environment.
